Intensive training was organised for the staff of the Wroclavia shopping centre
On 30 January 2024, a very intensive training was organised for the staff of the Wroclavia shopping centre, with the participation of all staff, including the management of the shopping centre, security managers, CCTV operators, security staff, administrative staff, technical staff and cleaning services.
The majority of lectures and exercises were given by the consortium trainers, CBRN, food safety and epidemiology experts from the University of Lodz and the Institute of Military Hygiene and Epidemiology, retired officers from the anti-terrorist police or military special units.
The training included presentations, demonstrations and exercises on CBRN threats, procedures and recommendations specifically targeted at shopping centre staff, such as identification and securing of vulnerable items, 123+, remove, remove, remove, 4C, search for suspicious items, evacuation, improvised decontamination procedures and good practices and recommendations to improve the protection of food supply chains.
The training was based on the training curriculum, manual and food safety materials developed by the MallCBRN -project. The training for the staff of the Wroclavia shopping centre was one of a series of pilot trainings.
Valuable feedback
We have received very valuable feedback on the content and format of the training, which will allow the consortium to develop the training material to better meet the needs of all the different groups of staff in shopping centres whose skills and activities affect CBRN security in shopping centres.
Wroclavia is a shopping, entertainment, and office center located in Wrocław, Poland.
It is situated in close proximity to the Wrocław Główny railway station and integrated with the Wrocław main bus station located at level -2 of the gallery. The center is owned by international chain Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, features approximately 200 stores inside of it. That includes restaurants, cafés, service points, a Cinema City movie theatre with 20 rooms (including IMAX, 4DX, and 3 VIP rooms), a 24-hour fitness club.
