In January 2020 first meeting of Mall-CBRN project was held. The meeting lasted two days and was attended by project partners and members of Advisory Board, specialist form EU who will consult and support project implementation. The meeting gathered almost 30 specialist from 7 European countries: Poland, Spain, Finland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic and Hungary. Participants covered background and experiences required for project implementation as they represent institutions like: military institutions, universities, non-profit organisation, public research institution, police units or fire services.

First day was devoted to project and partners with aim of gaining knowledge and trust in project consortium & mutual understanding of project aims and goals. Additionally, partners had an opportunity to discuss preliminary analysis of CBNRe terrorist attacks that can occur in big shopping malls.

Second day was devoted to presentation and discussion over project timeline, financial rules, specific objectives and potentials risks threatening achieving planned goals. The meeting was combined with two Work Package Team meetings: Gaps analysis and mapping (WP2) & Food Defence (WP5).

First project task have been identified. During upcoming months project partners will focus on analysis of detailed information about preparedness of shopping malls to the incidents involving CBRNe agents. This will be achieved through desk research, survey research and inspection visits. Based on the findings a “CBRNe gaps report” will be elaborated, which will lay the foundation for all further project results.
